CERTIFIED APPLICATOR RECERTIFICATION PROCEDURES
Certifications may be renewed no earlier than three months before and no later than 30 days after the expiration date in the following manner:
1. Pass the certification examination for the same categories, or accumulate the prescribed number of hours of training approved for credit for the certified categories.
The credit hours must be completed during the current 5-year certification period and may be acquired as follows:
(a)
(A) Attend Continuation Education Training (CET) classes such as seminars, conferences, or workshops (local or national) preapproved for credit by the Department of Agriculture. Each approved CET class carries a “category-specific” number of credit hours depending on its content and duration, and may involve tuition or fee charges by the class sponsor. Credit from ONLINE courses cannot exceed half of each applicable categories’ credit hour requirement rounded up. For example: Commercial category 5 needs 25 credits to renew so only 13 of those credits can come from online courses. Webinars will be excluded from the online requirements. To check the number of credit hours on your license, and for a list of currently scheduled classes, visit: https://inforpsdp.hawaii.gov/PesticidesEducation/#/homepage. (NOTE: Applicators are responsible for keeping a record of classes they attend. Classes are eligible for credits only once during the applicator’s 5-year certification period.)
